Fun new release this week; ScrapSimple Paper Templates-Edgies Biggie. They are fantastic for those final touches to your page.  You can clip papers to them for an added touch of accent or use your blending modes to give some oomph! I like to clip and blend!! Live dangerous even while scrapping!

I want to feature a product that Andrea has called ScrapSimple Paper Templates that go with her Crazy Retro Day kit! I had never seen this kind of template! I got to playing with Andrea’s Crazy Retro Day, making a page and wanted a different paper than what was in the kit.

Now the papers in the kit are so funky cool, but I needed the brilliant blue, with some circles!  So I grabbed the teal and cream papers in Andrea Crazy Retro Day and clipped them with the coordinating ScrapSimple Paper Templates! Oh yeah perfect! I love the effect and then added some of the cool elements in the kit, and a whole bunch of flowers, and oh I am loving the end results!  I used the wicked cool Paper Templates-Edges Biggie! and clipped the fun brown paper and played with different blends to pull the blues together on the top to go with the fun bottom papers!  I am an addict of layers, and when you have the phenomenal flowers like found in Andrea’s Crazy Retro Day Collection! I got layering and spinning and shadowing and the threw a few adorable leaves and love, love, love the cluster strip of flowers!

 

I  cut a circle in the cream paper and smudges some of the blue around the edge, and of course the burn tool! I like putting the photo under the paper, gives more depth!  Yep, that is me, way back in the day! Woo boy, that is the night before I joined the Air Force! Many, many years ago! Using the way back machine and digital scrapping to bring the past to look good with today’s awesome products! Thank you Andrea, for helping me make the 1980′s look good with all the wonderful designs and extras in your Crazy Retro Collection! There is so much in the collection, pop over to her store at Scrap Girls and browse! You will be glad you did!

Hello to you! Anne (of the Alamo around digiland) and I am stepping in to shout out for Andrea Trump’s Designs over at the Scrap Girls! Andrea has the cutest set of templates out, and I had to play with them!  If you are a feline furr baby lover, then these are puuurrrrrrrrfect! I just had to say that! The templates are called: Paws and Claws for Felines! Now for those doing Scrap for Hire or other commercial uses, Andrea has these Paws and Claws for Felines template available for Commercial Use also. Please follow the ToU for her products.

I got to playing with the templates and also her Crazy Retro Day Collection and a few pictures of my cat; Lady Fluffypants.  When I opened the Collection, first thing I loved was the funkalicious papers! I mean they are just wonderful!  I feel head over heels with the patterns! I can imagine these papers for teen pages and just feel good memories!

I wanted to keep a girlie feel to the page, so I stayed with the pink/brown/lime green colors on my page from the Crazy Retro Day Collection.

Andrea’s elements all flow really well together, and I was enjoying the flairs and flowers!  Her stamping work on the scatter-type elements are the bomb.  I really think this is one of the best parts of digital scrapbooking.  In paper scraps, you mess up the stamp! growl at everyone in the house!!  But with digital, you can stamp last! I love sticking stamped looked elements on the lower pages for that final touch of  “oh YEAH, that looks good”~

My photos were real dark, so I had to lighten them a whole lot, but I knew I was gonna add a bit of color to them to help them blend with the chocolate browns in Andrea’s groovy papers. I lightened and then added above each photo, the brown paper from the Crazy Retro Collection, and clipped it to the photo (now I don’t merge them ever, cause that makes them go back to normal blend), and I used the COLOR blend mode and brought the opacity down to about 68%.  The eyes on the middle picture were lightened up too much, so I went back in with my burn tool. **warning** I love the burn tool, and have been known to overdose on it, so use at your own discretion**  I just did my kitty’s dark parts of the eyes, so they would pop a bit more.   I made the PINK lines from the outside of Andrea’s template! I love the PINK!

I spontaneously joined the Polka Dot Plum speed scrap today. It was totally a blast! I had a really great time chatting and getting to know the ladies some more. But you know what? for once I couldn’t choose a kit! then Aly suggested I try out Polka Dot Plum Designs’ Sweet Little Claire so I did. What an amazing kit! It had everything I needed and MORE. I’ll be using this kit again for sure!

I’m SOOO excited… I just found out that I made it on the Site CT at Scrappity-Doo-Dah! To get their team, they had a contest… there were 3 rounds. I replied to the contest announcement post and then decided that I would do my best. If I made it hurray for me, but if I didn’t, that was ok… what was meant to be would happen!

So, for each, they provided a minikit & had some ‘rules’ we had to follow. the 1st round, we had to make 2 pages… here are my 2:

and much to my surprise, I MADE IT to the 2nd round!!

So here is my round 2 page, it’s one of my faves Thank you to my friend Jenn who let me use a pic of her and her daughter!

and much to surprise AGAIN… I made it to the 3rd round!!!!

Here are the 2 pages I did for the last round… man did I sweat over the 2nd one lol.

I’m excited to say that I’m May guest for Girl-Boy-Girl Designs by Jen Balding and what a good time to guest right during iNSD! Also exciting, Jen is guest Designing at Miss Tiina’s!

We start off with with iNSD, a fantastic sale all over digi scrap world!

Jen has amazing stuffs… I’ll show just a couple. 1st off, “Clare Bear” is a great girlie kit.

For this one, I did another tumbler insert because it’s so neat to just be able to change the picture in my mug whenever I want!!

And a ‘regular’ 12×12 layout because this kit was so fun to work with!

1 more… I know I know lol. For this one, I used a FREE template that I downloaded off Girl-Boy-Girl Designs’ blog just last night and the new “Giggle Monsters” kit at Miss Tiina’s

What a fantastic weekend this well be, I have SO many things to announce!

So I found a new Designer Team Duo, Ruby Lane and Pebbles Designs at Scrapable that I really like. Their stuffs are amazing and so very easy to work with. They’re having a Grand Opening SALE… go take a look & grab a kit or 2, you won’t be dissapointed!

When I found them, I got a kit from each and whipped up a couple of pages in a snap! For the 1st page, I used “Hog Wild” by Pebbles Designs… really neat kit with a ton of uses!

And the page I made using a FREE template from the April 16th Template Challenge at Scapable!!! This is one of my fave pages!!

The other kit I got was “Shabby Weekend” by Ruby Lane. Another fab kit to work with.

This kit even has a couple of Alpha Sheets, great addition to the kit! For this one, I was creating away, and came up with a quickpage. I talked to Amber and she was happy to let me post it on my blog.
